The Work

Movement of form drives my work. It is all about a confluence of curves and counter curves, unfurling like ribbon with folds and dramatic sweeps from fast to slow, driving the eye with a strong sense of direction. This is enhanced with my use of texture with indentations, as well as sectional changes, which move in unison with the direction of the form. I am increasingly inspired by Art Nouveau, as the flowing organic shapes convey a sense of natural energy and elegance, both qualities I endeavour to express through my own work. I think of my work as both simple and complex; despite the intricate details, the overall beauty is in the simplicity of the form, creating an emotive response in the viewer.
